Product Overview

The H Profile Lath Brush is a rigid staple-set strip brush designed for sealing, cable management and dust control in rack cabinets, server racks and other equipment enclosures. Nylon bristle tufts are securely stapled into a moulded rigid PVC profile, providing a stable brush barrier that maintains its shape during installation and use.

Also known as a tufted strip brush or staple set strip brush, this brush uses high-density 0.2 mm PA6 bristles in a single-row configuration. The rigid H-shaped profile provides accurate positioning and can be supplied with pre-drilled mounting holes for convenient installation.

The standard version measures 482 mm in overall length with a 30 mm bristle trim height, making it particularly suitable for rack cabinet applications. Profile dimensions, brush length, bristle height and bristle density can also be customized according to different equipment designs and sealing requirements.

Product Features

  • Rigid H Profile – The moulded rigid PVC body maintains a stable shape during installation and provides reliable positioning in rack cabinets and equipment enclosures.
  • Staple-Set Construction – PA6 bristle tufts are mechanically secured into the rigid profile with staples, providing consistent bristle retention for long-term use.
  • Flame-Retardant PA6 Bristles – The standard configuration uses high-density 0.2 mm black PA6 bristles with a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, suitable for rack cabinet and data center applications where flame-retardant materials are required.
  • Pre-Drilled Mounting Holes – Mounting holes can be incorporated into the rigid profile for convenient and secure installation on rack cabinets and other equipment.
  • Space-Efficient Design – The slim rigid profile is suitable for rack cabinet installations where effective sealing is required without occupying excessive equipment space.
  • Customizable Specifications – Brush length, profile dimensions, bristle height and bristle density can be customized according to different rack designs and sealing requirements.

Materials

Rigid PVC Profile: The brush body is manufactured from moulded rigid PVC, providing good dimensional stability and helping the H profile maintain its shape during installation and long-term use. Profile dimensions can be customized according to different rack cabinet and equipment designs.

Flame-Retardant PA6 Bristles: The standard brush uses high-density 0.2 mm black PA6 nylon bristles with a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. The bristles provide flexibility and resilience while forming an effective brush barrier for cable openings, dust control and airflow management in rack cabinets.

Metal Staples: The PA6 bristle tufts are mechanically secured into the rigid PVC profile using galvanized steel staples as standard. Stainless steel staples are also available for applications requiring improved corrosion resistance, such as wet, acidic or other corrosive operating environments.

Applications

The H Profile Lath Brush is designed primarily for rack cabinets, server racks and other data center equipment where cable openings require effective sealing. The high-density bristles form a flexible barrier around cables while helping reduce open gaps in the cabinet.

  • Data Center Rack Cabinets – Installed in rack openings to help seal unused space and reduce the entry of dust and airborne contaminants.
  • Cable Pass-Through Openings – Allows cables to pass through the dense bristles while minimizing the open area around cable bundles.
  • Server and Network Cabinets – Helps organize cable routing while providing a brush barrier between the cabinet interior and surrounding environment.
  • Airflow Management – Helps reduce uncontrolled air leakage through cable openings, supporting more effective hot-aisle and cold-aisle airflow management.
  • Telecommunication Equipment Cabinets – Suitable for cable entry and sealing applications in telecommunications and other electronic equipment enclosures.

Quality Control

Each H profile lath brush is inspected during production to ensure consistent dimensions, bristle density and reliable tuft retention. For rack cabinet applications, particular attention is paid to the profile dimensions, overall brush length and mounting hole positions to help ensure accurate installation.

The staple-set bristle tufts are also checked for secure retention in the rigid PVC profile. For customized products, key dimensions and mounting configurations are inspected according to the customer’s drawing or approved sample before shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an H profile lath brush?

An H profile lath brush is a rigid staple-set strip brush with bristle tufts mechanically fixed into an H-shaped profile. It is commonly used for sealing cable openings in rack cabinets, server racks and other equipment enclosures while allowing cables to pass through the bristles.

Is this H profile lath brush suitable for 1U rack cabinets?

Yes. The standard brush has an overall length of 482 mm and can be used for rack cabinet applications, including 1U and multi-U installations depending on the cabinet design. Custom dimensions are also available to match specific rack openings and mounting requirements.

Are the PA6 bristles UL 94 V-0 rated?

Yes. The standard 0.2 mm PA6 bristle material has a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, making it suitable for rack cabinet and data center applications where flame-retardant brush materials are required.

Can the mounting holes be customized?

Yes. The number, diameter and position of the mounting holes can be customized according to the customer’s rack cabinet design or technical drawing. The brush length and profile dimensions can also be manufactured to match specific installation requirements.

What is the difference between a lath brush and a flexible brush seal?

A lath brush uses a rigid profile that maintains a fixed shape and is suitable for straight, accurately positioned installations. A flexible brush seal uses a flexible rubber profile that can bend around curved or irregular surfaces. The appropriate construction depends on the mounting structure and sealing requirements.
